any of the creek fingers that have a stream Id start there and scout as many as possible and see which ones have the best food source and cover and I personally take a look to see for any other human presence IE: cans wrappers ect. if the best spots are spoken for on a state area I hunt here I then goto the road sides where no ones hunting. I cannot count how many times when I have driven by areas where people are parked and also just off the road sides and seen more deer than in the woods ,
hope this helps P.S if you have winter berrys they are a good food source when acorns are gone

Thanks well that game land is tough hunting. Talked to some older fellers that knew the area and said it wasn't to good. A lot of pressure more than likely have pushed the deer to the Army Base side (North). I did have a deer come up on me hunting the streams but got spooked and took off. Bucks only and one day of does for gun.
