Default deer overpopulation

Hey all,
I am pursuing my degree in fish and wildlife management and I am writing my paper on a topic of my choice. This is a rough draft, I have no sources or works cited page yet, still need to do some research. but just wanted to get some feedback on the topic and possibly in advise on where to look for some good sources. Thank you for any help.

Google the Kaibab Plateau Deer Population Study. It was one of the guiding studies by Aldo Leopold that influenced deer population management philosophy.

The Kaibab would be the best example of overpopulation you could ever look at to do that kind of paper!

Since you are writing for English class, you need to explain who "them" are in your opening statement: "One wouldn’t think, that deer population could matter to them."

Since this is your chosen field of study, use this as an opportunity to do some good research on this topic and make this a comprehensive paper. Start with the paper cited and then also check out the many sources of info in the results at

Also look at the Presque Isle deer situation back in the 70's with deer and some elm trees. This was a great example of what unstopped growth of the deer population will do to an area.

Good luck on the paper, as from that thumbnail sketch or draft, as you call it, it doesn't sound like you have put much time into it yet! I agree with the other comment made about "them" and also, right now it sounds like it's more of a paper about hunting versus nonhunting. That actually is ony a small part of what your paper should discuss.
