To be honest I was pissed when I watched this show. It seems like it intentionally goes out of the way to paint hunters as nicotine craving dumb rednecks that have NO respect for the animal they're after. And I have to seriously disagree that urban hunting is just as difficult as real hunting. You may get busted just as much but there are several things you don't have to worry about... the main one being smell. And dont forget the reason your allowed to hunt their in the first place is because the deer are everywhere. I am not saying that they aren't needed by anymeans. I think it is a very neat way of taking down inflated populations but if you strictly hunt urban areas you are not a deer hunter, your a pest control specialist. Thats what bothers me the most. They don't show how much work, thought, and effort goes into real deer hunting.

The Future

A future newbie hollywood film director and some ol' hunters in need of publicity.

And we must also remember there is imperfection in life and supposed perfection in hunting.

I've suburban deer hunting. My aim, accomplished, was to never let anyone know I was hunting, potential hunter or non-hunter. And never to let civilian residents ever see a dead deer. They only accept dead meat, if it's nicely packaged in a meat department of a supermarket.

I never wanted my tree stand to appear, alone, on the local television news, in a suburban setting, as I once saw.

Isn't that the truth?

A freind of mine got a ton of complaints for skinning a deer in his own back yard... sorry, his land to do what he will with. I don't know why people get so worked up about it, then have some kind of dead animal for dinner a few hours later.

Just watched the show for the first and last time.I wonder if the History channel would call "Bliiy the exterminator" a hunter?

Having commented in a number of places about the show, it's your typical made for TV drama. Just like Mountain Men, Pawn Stars, etc....It's scripted to cause drama.

Not the best portrayal of us hunters but I think they were going for ratings rather portraying our culture and heritage in the best light.

Having said that, some of it isn't too bad when you compare it to other hunting shows on TV that put me to sleep.

But yeah, I certainly feel what many of you have already said.

Does anyone here think that the shows being aired by the TV networks that feature idiots with guns, idiots behaving badly while supposedly "hunting", etc. etc. etc. are just a coincidence?

I think not.

Was watching a show on history channel the other day called Life after people and it all of a sudden sounded like a peta commercial blameing hunting for all of wildlifes probloms, mostly the wolf.kinda bothered me they never mentioned the good hunters do.

I'm not crazy about the show, but I watch it. Is it staged? It has to be. Who would get anywhere w/ there language and tone they use.

Until something comes along better, It's all we got.
