Default Carcass in the parking lot

Was leaving public hunting grounds today and noticed a carcass at the edge of the parking lot. Somebody had gutted it in the field then dragged it to the lot. Then they skinned it, cut off the head and took the backstraps. Personally, I don't like to see the waste, but if it was legal then it is their business. However, I looked at the check in/out sheets. Nobody indicated taking a deer. I know it was left there in the last 24 hours because I was there both days. I think somebody is failing to play by the rules. Also, I want to say they have signs up about processing animals within a certain distance of common areas. I'm irritated about this big time. Am I off base or dos this bother anybody else?

I dont agree with it either, all you can do is make a report of it.

Sounds like an obvious case of wanton waste of an animal, a direct violation of hunting regulations in most states. If they did as you say and left the meat on the quarters and took only the backstraps, they left a good majority of the usable meat there. I wouldn't necessarily jump to suspect someone that was hunting there; it would be just as easy for someone who hunts somewhere else to dump the deer there. That sort of thing really ticks me off.

In most states, leaving much of the deer like that is a game violation. And chances are, if they are doing this, they are also violating some other laws. Could have been a poached deer dumped in this spot. Tough to catch them now, though. Probably should report it, cause they might try it again.
