It was in the paper yesterday that a Newport News Virginia man was arrested for having too many deer racks in his house. On tips from neighbors he was arrested for the racks. Many were frexh kills. He says that he used to be a Tax. and has gotten the racks over the years. He had them hidden in secret doors in his attic and in boxes in the garage. His plates on his truck say EZ2SPOT I think that this gives him away. They aught to lock him up and throw the key away.

I'm confused...were the deer poached or is there a law against owning to many deer racks? Nevermind I guess they would have to be poached because there were 112, and "many were fresh kills" That would be alot of antlers unless you were Cardeer. I know the way I'm going I won't have his trouble. LOL

lets all not jump the gun. he may be a taxidermist who loves racks and has bought alot of them from legitamate hunters. its not that uncommon. on the other hand if he has poached the majority of the racks then he should be banned from ever owning any kind of weapon in his life. and i think around a 5000$ per rack restitution to his local fish and game would be a start

The article says that right now he is out on bail and the racks are being investigated. He is not a taxidermist and the plates on his truck say EZ2SPOT. He is almost bragging on his plates.

I'm not saying he is not guilty, but remember he is innocent until proven guilty!! If we were prosecuting everyone because their license plates said something that might connect them to a crime I know alot of people who would be in trouble. IMO

He better have good records of the previous owners of the racks. Or he better know a lot of people who will vouch for him. If he doesn't then he is busted

Well, my garage has about 500 sets of antlers in there, nailed to the wall. About 15 are fresh. This doesn't make me a poacher, it's where my father and my brothers hang and butcher their deer. We tack all the unmountable racks on the wall. The thing is, here in NJ, it's illegal to have a rack without a tag, and they could be confiscated. Nevermind they were all taken legally over the years, but I don't have a tag for every one! It's a ridiculous law.
However, in this case, I do see the problem with them being hidden all over his house. Sounds fishy.
