Default watering hole question?

I live in Wisconsin and my man made watering hole is dried up. I was going to buy a 15 gallon rubber tub from Fleet Farm and put out for the deer. Is that big enough and should I go with plastic or a rubber tub. I own 40 acres and have some nice bucks on my property, also can I just set tub out or do I have to bury it in ground. I will keep water filled as I check my cams. Thanks Scoot

They will drink out of anything that will hold water. I'd just be very careful and try not to stink up the place with human scent when you go out to fill whatever you decide on. If it were me, I would by two or three if you can afford it as 15 gallons isn't very big.

I would bury it a little bit atleast, also yes 15 gallons of water isnt that much, the sun can evaporate some of it also. Good idea though!

On most occasions white tails will get enough water from the plants they are eating. Even plants and grains that seem still contain water. Also if deer are hitting salt blocks and not your water that right there shows you they are getting enough water from somewhere. To many minerals and not enough water will dehydrate any animal.
