Sept 8th archery, gotta shoot a doe before I can harvest a buck!!
We can hunt doe only in mid-September in the southern corners of the state. I've done it, but it's hot out. The regular season opens up the first weekend in October, which is more like it.

BX,
I haven't hunted PA in 15 years. Had a lease on a 550 acre farm in Delaware but lost it just recently. Now I'm off to Jersey with my crossbow on Sept 8th. To shoot a buck in this early season, you must first shoot a doe before you can shoot a buck.

lost lease
I lost two leases in Delaware in the past few years. Both are housing developments. Where my best goose pit once sat is now a two story house. It took me some time, but I ended up in a lease with five farms within 25 minutes of my home. Now I just need to stay healthy and get out there.
One thing we all are going to see is ticks and chiggers this year. Last year I forgot to spray one time. Ended up with one chigger on my leg.
He died and a hundred others came to his funeral. OMG I hate chiggers. My ankles looked like a chicken pox poster. With this weather we are gong to see every critter God made that bites waiting for us in the woods.
I have been practicin with the bow. Getting ready.
