Why can't we all just get along?

Why can't we all just get along? Or a better title might be "We'd better get along or the anti's will pick us apart!"
I have written before on this subject, but lately I have seen a disturbing trend here on ethics and competitiveness! First, don't get me wrong, we can and should discuss ethics issues here. We should just do it in a more civil manner! We can all learn something from each other and that is what this board is all about. Also, the best place to discuss ethics is at your local public hearings where hunting law changes are made, and also calls and letters to your game commissioners. We should ultimately support each other as long as the way we are hunting is LEGAL!
The other alarming thing I see here is the over-competitivness trend we are developing!
I am not saying that record books and big buck contests are wrong. A little competition is healthy!
What I am talking about is the over-competitve, over-zealeous, ego-pumping one-ups-manship! When someone makes the statement "I only hunt this way and would never hunt this way or that way," it serves no purpose other than to pump up one's ego and bash another person!
Again, I say we should be more supportive or at the very least, a little more tolerant of other methods of hunting as long as what they are doing is LEGAL!
You hunt over bait, or you don't hunt over bait! SO WHAT! If it is legal, you have a CHOICE! If it is not legal where you hunt you have no choice, obey the law!
You are a trophy hunter! That's great, I am too! SO WHAT! If there were no meat hunters or doe hunters, the doe population would get out of whack and the trophy hunting and the deer herd itself would suffer!
You hunt from a comfortable blind, you only stalk! SO WHAT! Does someone hunting from a blind HURT your hunting? NO!
I hunt with a gun. I hunt only open sights, I hunt with a bow, oh I only hunt wearing a loin-cloth and carrying a hand carved spear! Again, I say "SOOOO WHAT! The list could go on forever! One way of hunting does not make me better than you. As I said before, we should be more supportive of our fellow hunters as long as we are hunting LEGALLY! We would be better off using our energy to stop poachers and educate the non-hunting community that there is a difference between LEGAL hunting and POACHING!
Some of our competitiveness or over competitiveness should I say, only drives wedges between us as hunters, that the anti's could only dream of doing as well themselves!
While some call hunting a sport, it is more than a mere sport, and much more than a competitive sport!
Hunting is a love of nature, a love of the outdoors and a love of life itself! We would do well to promote and support LEGAL hunting this way instead of bashing each others hunting methods!
