"quote"Some adults may have a small tuft on the tips of their ears, though this may not always be obvious. The bobcat is named for it's tail. All bobcats have a bobbed tail, though it may be as long as 12 inches in length.
This bobcat has a longer than average tail at 10 inches long. |
Thanks

Thanks to all you guys for weighing in. I think what I have here is a legendary bobcat. It is highly unlikely that I will ever see it during daylight hours. I have entertained the idea of getting an electronic predator call and a .243 rifle to call in coyotes. From my research, a good call is going to cost $600.00 or better. The cheap ones are frowned on in too many reviews. If I elect to do this sometime in the not too distant future then perhaps I could get this cat to show for me.
Regarding having another picture of deer in that same area, yes, I do have many deer pictures there but most of them are night pictures. I will include a day picture from that same angle of wild turkeys. By comparison, I think it confirms that it is a bobcat. Thanks again for your view/opinions. |
Bobcat for sure. 1000%!! It is amazimg to me that others see something else. Thats why so many cougers are seen in NY.

Looks like a big Bobcat to me.

The farther North you go, the larger the animal. Ole Bruggie's Law. Your cats are larger than outrs. Down here, it takes a big one to weigh 30-pounds.
Unfortunately for you, the same seems to apply to the women. And smome housecats... ![]() :s1: |
Just for comparison:
![]() The one upper left weighed 31-pounds. |
We have them both in So Florida this aint no cougar/mtn lion. It is a BOBCAT on steriods.

That bobcat is huge...It's almost as big as the panther I saw where I hunt in MS...they say we don't have them but I've seen two over the years...one on my way to Starkville at night standing on the side of the road and one where I hunt just strolling thru as pretty as you please...he looked a little poor but his tail just kept going and curled right up near the end...it was really cool to see.

Here are the size comparison pictures.
