just thought i would share a story
#1
so two weeks ago on the opening day of gun season in maryland we were doing a man drive and i was siting on the edge of a field and my dad was back in the woods. and i could see this buck on top of the hill and i thought he left and went to my dad. three does came out behind me in the hedro at like 10 yards so i shot this one. i guess the buck thought i was on the other side of the hedro so it came back and came into the field and i shot it and it dropped. so me and my bro dressed it and drug closer to the truck and left to go sit for the night. we go back to pick it up and our friend was driving and he ran over the antlers and they stuck in the mud i was standig there and i didnt know wether to cry
or yell
. we got them out of the mud and the left side was broken off inside the skull so it was held on by the skin my dad says it will be okay and the taxidermist can fix it. so i just wanted to share that with you about the first day of gun and wanted to see if anyone else ever had this happen

OH yes it has happened to me not once but twice. Once we were on swamp buggy and the buck fell off and got run over by the rear tire. Keep in mind these are big tractor tires.
Another time I had the buck tied to the back of my horse. all of a sudden the deer slips down the side of the horse. The horse freaks out kicks the rack I did all I could to hold on.
On both occasions the taxidermist fixed the racks. You could not tell anything had ever happened to them.
Congrats way to go on your double.
