Took this big guy on Thanksgiving morning! One shot from my 1941 .300 Savage EG did the job. I had to drop to my knees and thank the Good Lord for land to hunt on and Whitetail venison! Also took a younger one earlier in the season in SW Wisconsin, Richland County. Good luck to everyone and be safe!

Congrats nothing better than taking one with old steel. I love the look of a old savage my dad has one to with a weaver scope on flip down mounts. The scope works about as good as something you would find in a cracker jack box but thats what makes it fun!

I think they could easily sell 100,000 of a special run. Folks would pay a premium.

That is an excellent buck! Congratulations!

I, too, hunt with a .300 Savage. Mine is a Remington 722 and I love the gun. It's short, light, easy to carry and handle, and packs enough power for the shots in my range (100 yards and in). I took a 100 lbs. doe with it this year and was really thankful; it was my first deer.

I'm new to hunting and shooting, but it's my understanding that the .300 Savage was replaced by the .308 Winchester. Is that correct?

Again, congrats on the great buck!
