I find it unfortunate nobody would help a newbie but in this day and age I believe it. Living in Colorado (out west) seems to be some of the greatest hunting grounds. You can do a lot of reading in hunting mags, and watching t.v. shows, but really can't get the experience unless your actually out there in the woods. I am not sure how it is out there as far as Hunter safety courses, but that would be the first thing you should to do be able to hunt safely. Then time is all you need to learn the ins and outs. It's a shame you don't have a buddy that would let you tag along for some experience. Maybe try a ranch, the rancher might help you out with hunting pesky predators if it will benefit him. Its a start. If you want to learn hunting you will find a way, best of luck to you.
