Default Embarrassingly stupid question for those that hunt on public land

I know that no question is dumb... but this is probably hunting 101 and I'm just ignorant.

If you are hunting on public land, are you hunting from a stand? Walking around? Hiding in a bush?

Walking in real far, then a bit farther, then a 1/2 mile more. Use an 11lb Timber=Tall baby=lite climber........(also don't hunt near any campground or trailhead)

I've done it all three ways. Also, another good strategy is to hunt the edges..the outer boundaries of the public land. (not dangerously close to roads).

Like others have said you need to go very deep into the land as 99% of hunters on public land are too lazy to do that. And in Wisconsin you aren't allowed to use ATV's unless authorized by posted permit. If ATV's are allowed and some come on the land with them you're screwed. Find some public land where they aren't permitted.
