Default Took The Savage 220 To The Range

This morning I took my Savage 220 to the range, she is topped off with a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40, I'm using Remington Accu-Tip 3" Slugs.

Here is a picture, 5 shot group at 100 yards 4" high above center, I think she is ready for deer/bear season, this is a 175/200 yard gun !!!!

Don't mind the slug holes to the left, made them while sighting in. Sorry for such a small picture, I took it with my cell phone.

I have only heard good things about this "new" Savage slug gun.

I have also seen quite a few targets that look just like your groups.

I'll be buying one !!!

It has a great trigger, not the smoothest action, but then one shot is all you need, who cares about the action !!!

I got mine a little high at 150 and dead on at 200. Where were u able to find the 3 inch accutips. Every place I have checked has been sold out since November? I am going to stock up this year. Ables ammo is the cheapest but they are sold out to.

Parrot Head there is a site www.buycheapr.com or something like that (just Google Rem. Accu-tips) and it should be there. They have the 3" shells for $13.00 or so a box.

I keep contemplating on getting one of these. But I have so many rifles now I have a hard time deciding which one I want to hunt with. If I was in an area where I could only hunt with a muzzleloader or shotgun though, this one would be on the top of my list.
