I saw one buck in the woods last year. It was a spike. There's not a lot of chances to let anything walk. Our area has a 3-point per side antler restriction but I don't see that many bucks to begin with. Most of our property is overgrown clear cut. Visibility is nil. The bordering SGL has open woods where the visibility is good but the deer don't go there. They hang out in the clear cuts.

There are a lot of bucks around. We see them at night around the cabin, driving around, spotting nearby fields and get a lot on trail cameras. We just don't see a lot of deer in the woods.

I shoot anything that makes me say "Dang, thats a nice deer!" when I first see it.
