RE: want to start
All good advice but I' d also suggest contacting a local sportsman' s club or your DNR about taking a hunter' s safety course(even if it' s not required). The information and knowledge learned will be invaluable.Good luck and have fun!

RE: want to start
Ok, from one newbie to another.
I' ve got two seasons under my belt and here' s my advice thus far. In addition to the above, pick yourself up a good compass (if you plan on moving around when you hunt). Also, if you' ve got the $$$, a GPS wouldn' t hurt either (depending on your bush skills. But get the compass first. Despite the fact that I was comfortable with being in the bush, I also packed a few survival items like matches, flares, space blanket and whistle. A pair of binoculars for spotting is also advisable. It is my opinion that you shouldn' t be looking through your scope to see something more clearly (Safety first). Sit back, relax and be prepared for the joy of a lifetime. |
