Default Black bear hunting on deer land

Might be a stupid question but here it goes: I have 20 acres in N. MN. I hunt deer here during firearms season and blackpowder season. These seasons are in November and Dec. I would really like to hunt black bear this year if I end up pulling a tag. If I do go this year will hunting black bear on my 20 spoil the deer season? Black bear season runs from sept to mid Oct. If I bait the area will the deer avoid the area? This would be my first year black bear hunting and I would be using the stand I use for deer. Common sense tells me that I might ruin things but I would like everyones input. Thanks Russ

I have a buddy that does that very thing...baits bear and deer hunts on the same land. He generally gets a bear and deer. Where deer and bear are found on the same land, neither moves out. Every year I put my trail cameras up, I get bear photo's and deer photo's in the same roll, just not in the same frame.

You should be fine. Many hunters hunt the same land for deer and bear hunting in Wisconsin.

They coexist in nature. They only keep a minimal distance between them. Basically, if a deer can see a bear near by, they will leave. If they can't, they will stay.

We bait bears in the spring and there are always alot of deer around. The bears won't spook the deer in my experience.
