I have a TC Pro Hunter .270 WIN and want to put a really nice scope on it. I have a Leupold 3x9x40 on another Remington rifle, but out in Missouri it just doesn't cut it on the longer shots and low light situations. Can someone recommend a good scope for this particular rifle. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas.

Leupold VX-II or III you can never go wrong

If you are worried about low light conditions, large objective and good glass is most important. Leupold VXIII's in a minimum of 50mm objective, 4.5-14x50mm is about perfect IMO.

Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 at $399 is a lot of scope for the $$$$.

IMO, large objective NO, good glass / coatings YES. It depends on what you want to spend, shooting ranges and conditions, ER, EP and FOV desires, etc. I'd be checking out the Sightron SII Big Sky line, Vortex Vipers, Zeiss Conquests, Meopta Meopro and upper Burris units. There are some fantastic sales now preceding new offerings for next year. Go to the SWFA website and study up.

Don't know what your budget is, but for a good quality scope the Zeiss Conquest would probably get my vote also.

Go with a Zeiss.

I have Nikon Prostaffs on pretty much any gun that I have to shoot at length, and I love them. Best you can buy in my opinion

large objective NO, ???? are u kidding me. Bugs N Bows..why don't you remove all your scopes and put 32mm on them? Really

I sold LOTS probably hundreds upon hundreds of different scopes for years in my shop...during a trip we took them out in low light and did our own comparison...set them on a bench while up in Saskatchawan (almost dark) and without touching them looked through each one all focused at the same object 150 yards away...I will mention the top three Swarovski, Leopold and Burris...not in that order for any reason...the rest didn't owe up. But we ALL agreed on one thing there was no difference between the Swaro & Leopold both with the same objective. So from that day on I outfitted all my weapons (inclusive of handguns) with Leopold. I hunt all over Canada and the US ...never, not once have I had a problem and even more so NONE of our customers have ever complained about a Leopold. That doesn't mean there are not a lot of good scopes out there..but price and reputation says it all

I'd either break out the lense cleaner or go to a more premium model of Leupold (ie vx3), but I'm not much for 32x scopes
