I got her...southeast..is the rise
The reason why it's important..my hunting spot is 90 miles away..I must have the wind in my favor to drive that far..

Am I missing something? Doesn't it always rise in the east and set in the west?

No sir,
The 4 seasons are caused by the earth's tilt. I noticed the other day when sitting for 12 hours how the sun made a short arch for the entire day...this effects me alot as I've become a firm believer in the deer's powerful sense of smell. I take the wind direction serious.

The sun right now in Florida rises in the South East and sets in the South West.

Yeah, wind direction to me is also pretty important. I like to hunt with the wind in my face.

Every time I go out hunting, I first go to weather.com put in my zip code and click on the "Hourly" tab. It gives me the projected wind direction by the hour. I have used their website for many years and have found it quite accurate here in my area. You can use it anywhere in the country.

I do the same thing...but what can be tricky when your in your stand..most of us see the sun rise as a landmark when in the winter time that sun rise can be mis leading..
