These guns are great guns.Definetly worth $150.If you buy this gun use only 150 grain bullets or the gun will not function right and will shoot wildly.I have seen this a lot with this gun. But other than that it is an excellent gun.

likley a bad apple, or your shooting 130 grain bullets, Out of this gun i say shoot 150 grain and up and you shouldnt have any problems.

The 7400 in a wood stock and 270. is my dream gun

The absolute best semi auto made. I have a carbine .30-06
Groups tight. Never jammed, not even once.
And I run 150-180 grain. takes them all.

I have a high scope mount, where I can see the iron sights, and through the scope. Best setup I ever had.

The only negative thing is the butt plate... it's hard plastic.
It needs a soft rubber recoil pad.
Which reminds me, I have to order one.

I have the 742 which is the pre-cursor to the 7400. I have not had jam issues unless I don' tkeep it clean. My suggestion after you buy it (yes it's a good deal), break it down and clean everything involved in the action. Easy to do.

Well its not exactly a modd 7400. Its a model four, The model produced before the 7400. It jams sometimes and sometimes it wont. I keep it clean. Ive had it rip the rim if the casin off tryin to eject the shell.
