How long must i wait!!!!!
Hey everyone,
I got my first buck this year with my bow and I decided to get it mounted. It is a nice 9 point! Anyway.. This is my first mount and I was wondering how long it usually takes to get one back... I gave it to them over a month ago and the spot on the wall is starting to get dusty LOL.
HOW LONG MUST I WAIT!?!?!?!?
Thanks,
Sevi316

It really depends. Most of the time, if I was to shoot one in mid november, I would usually get mine back before Feb. But also keep in mind that my taxidermist is a hunter too and he doesn't start the project till after the first week in December was over ( usually) So I would say two months is safe to say depending on the taxidermist and how fast he gets his supplies. It also depends if he tans the hides himself or if he sends them out to be tanned. Alot of things come into factor. And yes, I know it can be a nail biting experience when you are waiting for your mount, but when you get it, its a priceless moment, God bless and keep that spot on the wall dusted off.

Yep, the first one I got done took about 7 months or so. I was told this was about normal when asking around. This current one I'm getting done I was told 1 year is what he tells people, but he is caught up so he hopes to have it done sometime during the summer.

It probably depends on how well you know your taxidermist and how soon he starts mounting this years deer. If he hunts it could be after season before he starts. A friend of mine carried his son about a month ago and the kid killed a 250 pound big non-typical. I called another friend that does taxidermy and he already has the mount ready to pick up for Christmas.
