WIbackwoodsU61 12-06-2010 10:47 AM

Looks like you need to get into the stand and hunt that guy hard! haha

2 Lunger 12-06-2010 10:57 AM

I'm not sure you fully understand what you got there. Thats a 180" typical.

halfbakedi420 12-06-2010 11:47 AM

that is a monster..i would get 4 different estruses and buck piss...find some big, real antlers to rattle...spend the week or 5 at the farm!!! might never see him again..if its the 1st sighting, it could be the last, when the rut is kickin...deer will go up ta 19 miles out of their normal routine, to find some tail, then its right back to the house.

Bocajnala 12-06-2010 11:54 AM

That's incredible :0

fishintay 12-06-2010 01:43 PM

Looks like he has a christmas tree on his head.lol.Good luck chasin after that monster.

Sport4 12-06-2010 01:51 PM

Hmmmm? The corn is still in and there are a lot of leaves in the tree. And I would think the neck would be pretty swollen this time of year. When was this picture taken?

dude, im always high, but yes, up to 19 miles...cant find the article, but somebody found it interesting enough to go out and see just how far they go during the rut to spread their seed...and it showed that mature bucks will go up to 19 miles outside their normal routine to try and make babies.

doall hunter 12-07-2010 04:14 PM

How mant points does he have???? 37?

WIbuckchaser 12-07-2010 05:02 PM

I'm not saying that you're wrong, but I know that Deer & Deer Hunting had studies that showed that a mature bucks home range is normally 1 mile and 4 miles when in rut. 19 seems like a really big number.

VA5326 12-07-2010 07:15 PM

That an ogre! good luck!!

deernutz 12-08-2010 03:52 AM

I did a real quick rough score using the B&C sheet based of the pic. I got 209. There's no doubt this is a 200 inch deer. The bad thing is it was during the rut and based off the fact u got one pic of him leads me to believe he passed through your property. Never know though. I would pull up some google earth images and look at the surrounding properties. Good luck can't wait to see your pic on the cover of North American Whitetail.

deernutz 12-08-2010 03:55 AM

Supaflav a bucks range during the rut can be based off of the doe ratio. If a mature 200 inch buck has 40 does with in 2 miles he doesn't have to go anywhere. Now you take 75 % of the does out and he's gonna have to travel farther then 2 miles to breed.

I know a friend who shot a nice buck in WI. it made the local paper. A guy came foward with a trailcam pic of the same deer 17 miles away 2 nights prior. Bucks can move far distances when their breeding.

i used to think the same thing..640 acres is alot of land to me, but to a deer its merely a "timeout" seat. i wish i could find that article, if i remember right, they'll stay in a 6 sq mile area until the rut, then they will take a route, up to 19 miles outside their normal routine, to make babies...i think its just nature, it helps the inbreeding process ( yes i know that every species is inbred, but hopefully you get my point.)

bwoods14 12-08-2010 08:25 AM

I can't see deer around here having to go too far during the rut. The deer population up here is ridiculous so I cant believe he'd have to go too far to find a doe. And this picture was taken the weekend of thanksgiving..why his neck isnt twice its size i dont know..I just wish i had gotten a picture of him straight on to get a better idea of how big he really is

kateraxl2381 12-08-2010 08:43 AM

wow thats HUGE!!

car 12-08-2010 09:06 AM

He would look good on your wall! Real nice buck

OldBuckstalker1187 12-08-2010 09:54 AM

The words Milo Hansen come to mind when I see this pic. Great monster typical. From what I can see I count 11 points, but I cant see his brow tines though, so Im guessing a 13 pointer, maybe more? I believe Milo's buck had 16 pounts though. Still a monster deer provided that the pic was not photo shopped. Its hard to tell sometimes what to believe with all the technology these youngsters are coming out with these days to alter photos.

And I am not saying that this photo has been altered, I was only making a comment on how you cant believe everything you see now, in photo's or videos. It was not meant to be any disrespect for the thread starter.

Alright lookin at this alittle closer I would have to say it was a picture from a tv screen and whats the marks outside the frame we can't see? I'm starting to change my mind now.

bwoods14 12-08-2010 11:43 AM

i took a picture of the original photo with my cell phone and emailed it myself so i could upload it here..the reason for the poor quality

ronman1 12-08-2010 07:23 PM

This report includes studies on a bucks home range. In Texas a buck traveled 15 miles on an excursion during the rut. He then returns to his home range.

blancobuster 12-08-2010 08:31 PM

he returns if he is still alive! nice buck dude

:busted: My thoughts too. Wouldn't be the first trail pic that was stolen off TV or somewhere else on the net. There was actually one posted a couple of weeks ago wanting us to score the buck. The guy posted the picture and everyone went crazy over how big the buck was. The next day I was watching the outdoor channel and saw the exact same picture on a Primos Game camera commercial. The picture had the exact date and times of the guys picture claiming to have got the picture on his trail camera. Pretty obvious too when someone takes a picture with their camera of a TV screen such as this one and that one. I do wish at least one of these guys would prove me wrong and take a picture of themselves in the exact same cam flipping me the bird.:)

Steven McBee 12-11-2010 07:30 AM

I'm guessin this deer goes about 233 1/8 ;)....This is the field and stream buck taken by Bob Decker in Wisconsin in 2008. I just watched NAW and seen this trail cam pic. Nice try

gunther89 12-11-2010 07:40 AM

Steven you beat me to it. I just saw that too on NAW and was gonna say that.

motorpig262 12-11-2010 09:56 AM

Boy bwoods14 must have one pitiful life. WTF would anyone do that? Just all out lying about a trail pic? Boy I bet that was a lot of fun hu bwoods14?
