New guy here!
How's everyone doing ? I'm new to the site, as well as kind of new to hunting 
...My first time hunting on my own was last year during shotgun season. Didn't have any luck though. I didn't want anything but a monster buck lol. This year I went out again for the first season of shotgun and ended up having a little baby 8 walk nearly 10 feet from my ground blind! I decided to take him out. Thats the first deer for me. I'm actually looking to buy a bow for next season. Any of you guys around Springfield IL area ? I'm limited on my hunting spots, which sucks. I hunt on a farmers land for now. 40 acres of praire grass and 3-4 acres of timber. Needless to say, not much activity. I might check out some public hunting spots for next year. If any of you guys hunt them let me know! I'm always open for advice.
