Default My first buck

After 7 years of deer hunting, I finally filled a buck tag. This buck came from Peabody WMA in Kentucky. I've passed on several small bucks and though this one isn't a record setter, I couldn't be happier. I harvested this buck on opening day of modern gun season. My hunt was over by 7:15am and it took about 2 1/2 hours to recover and drag him out of the woods. I'm glad I had a buddy and his girlfriend nearby to help get him and my gear out. I hope it doesn't take another seven years to knock another buck down!

Thanks guys. It's funny, I set out on that morning just to get some meat in the freezer. My mindset was to shoot the first deer I saw, and I did. This was the result, and I'm good with it!
