Default Very proud of my son

My son is 11 and has been hunting we me for the last 4 years, 3 with a gun. He has killed 5 deer, 3 does and 2 bucks. His 5 point was about 8 inches wide and 10 inches tall. His 7 point was about 14 inches wide and 12 tall. This Sat. we had a nice 9 point about 16 inches wide and 13 inches tall with fairly good mass come by us. We saw him at about 150 yards across a field and my son sat so still and let the deer get to 30 yards and lifted his gun slowly. The deer saw him move and put it in to high gear causing my son to shoot behind him for both shots. It was a clean miss but a great lesson learned of a close encounter of the big buck kind. We will be back at em this weekend!!

Good luck getting him. Enjoy that time with your son too. That is awsome that you get to have the "man time" with him.....

Those times we miss are when the really valuable life lessons are learned! Congrats to your son for officially joining the ranks of all hunters--for no one is truly an honored hunter until he or she misses a buck!
