we also can take the plug out for deer in Virginia and I have 4 3 1/2 inch in the gun and 6 in my pocket, what is left from the 2 boxes. I also have my sons extras for his 20 gauge in my other pocket. He can hold 5 in his and then I hold the other five.

I usually carry 4 in my gun and a box in my bag. Can never have too many shells. Plus there is always a coyote running around somewhere.

Muzzle loader i have my 3 speedloaders 10 sabbots and enough powder to shoot them.

5 in the gun and 10 in a belt clip. May be overkill, but I always thought of it for safety reasons. If I was ever hurt, or unable to walk, no outside communication, at least I could let off a shot every so often if they came looking for me. God, you'd think I was hunting in the wilderness or something. In our club, we hunt close enough that if I pass gas, somebody'd hear it. Just kidding, but I'd rather have em and not need em, than to need them and not have em.

5 in my rifle and 15 in the 9mm on my hip. If I am going up in the mountain I will take an extra 5 for the rifle.

3 total with one in the chamber. Mostly use Rem 700's.

Might shoot more than one deer and the idea of a spare for mercy killing, like what Buck Holliday mentioned, is a good idea for just in case.

4 in the clip, two extra shells in my pack. While muzzleloading I bring two spare speed loaders and a load in it. One speed loader for each side pocket of my pants. So, if after I shoot with the buck fever I have one in either pocket, which ever ones fastest to get to haha.
