Exclamation Farmer's and Hunter's Feeding the Hungry

With as much as people are struggling to make ends meet now a days I thought I would post the link to this organization. http://www.fhfh.org/Home.asp I am in no way associate with this program, I just think this is a wonderful way for hunters to contribute to their communities. To me donating a deer is a win win situation. You can thin your herd and help put food on the table for struggling families. Hopefully this is something you consider as you hit the deer woods this fall. Happy Hunting!

We have something similar to that here in SD. Basically, you can get a certificate of $75 towards processing if you donate a deer to the program. The certificate covers the deer that you donate. The only problem is, some places charge more than $75 to process a deer.

In Kansas City they have a DMU19 hunt for the city deer. Most of the meat ends up going to harvesters and the Kansas Breadbasket. The crazy thing is, the city is still having to pay contractors to pick up the slack from the low tag sales, so they end up spending more money to get rid of the deer than it costs to feed the hungry.

This is great. For Anti-hunters to have no "come back" when I/we tell them about orgs. like these. Its just awesome

It's a great idea, but last year I read a story about a large shipment of donated ground deer meat that was tested. They found minute traces of lead (imagine that) in the meat and hauled the entire shipment to the dump.
