Default Son shot his first deer with bow and arrow

My son and I went out tonight even though the wind was howlin 30 mph. From the advice from folks on this site, we spot and stalked until we got on some does. They came right in and gave him a 25 yard shot. He hit a little low, but hit vitals and we recovered her about 100 yards away. Our family is so proud of him, as we are all avid bow hunters. Great thing is, my Dad shot his first deer at this location, my brother, myself, and now one of my three sons. Got two more to go. Thanks for the advice of not stayin at home on the couch.

Too dark for outdoor pics, sorry. Best we could do tonight. Thanks for the nice comments, and yes, I am a proud father.

Thumbs up

Good to hear that you went out and GOD blessed your efforts. Don't think poorly of those who said stay home due to the wind they had their opinion and voiced it. Those of us who have hunted in high winds simply believed you could have success regardless of the wind if it came together for you. What a thrill to have your son get one, congrats on your well earned reward for braving the elements. Now may you be blessed with some backstraps very soon. Nice looking Doe.

I have to admit, I was more excited for him shooting the deer than he was. Its almost like I could quit bow hunting and just watch him and get that same rush I get from shootin one. Not quiting bow hunting, lol, just an amazing feeling that I cant wait to feel again. What a blessing from GOD.
