UPDATE on the What is this pic.
1 Attachment(s)
OK this is a new pic of the DOGS/CATS thing that I put on here a while back. And still not a great pic but its alot closer. so guys what do you think?
Looks like a panther!!!!
It's not a cat I do know that
Not a dog ....thought so at first but panther/cat makes sense b/c of the hump (shoulder) that most cats have esp while prowling
Well this one should get interesting....
-Jake |
skinny dog
Dog.......
On second thought, this thing just walked within 5ft of your cam, why didn't you look at the prints? Problem solved!
Looks like a black lab.
Not enough ass to be a cat in my opinion.

Here we go again.

Also im not trying to start anything i just want some ideas what it is.. |
Its a skinny dog. The way you can tell is by the hind quarters and tail. If it were a cat, the skin flap would not be that far up the inner hind quarter like it is.
The second part is the tail. I have seen several cats on trail cameras and all of their tails were stretched out farther from the body and not so raised as this one is. My .02 cents. |
I can't believe this is still being debated! It looks just like my 8 month old lab pup without question it's a dog, lab type.
another dog pic you should move that cam farther away from town so you can get some deer pics.
Ok heres my opinion.
I believe its a panther. 1:Tail curls to much to be a dog.( at least any larger dog) 2:Shoulder blades built for jumping 3:Longer body 4:Skinny body 5:Black...... |
The only question I'd have is that shoulder blade. That is a very defined shoulder blade for a dog.
-Jake |
You all are funny, Ive seen much more defined shoulder blades on a dog, it is clearly a malnutritioned black lab. There is no mistaking a lab, and thats clearly a dog. Too tall of legs to be a panther, and ...well heck id be wasting time if I establish a full reasoning on why its a dog..but CLEARLY its a dog.
i think its a gorilla
no probably a skinny dog i would assume |
Jeez guys, really? That animals body looks JUST like my great pyrenese pup. Pronounced shoulders, curled tail, skinny midsection, if youd like i could take a picture, the only difference is the color. And yes i do feed my dog properly.
I'm thinking dog.
Shoulder blade at cat like though. Aren't cougar/panther tail a consistent diameter all the way to the end and this on seems to get smaller all the way to the end like a dogs. ![]() |
It's the Chupacabra.
Labercougar
Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, bonafide, in the flesh, BLACK PANTHER!
Well, it aint bigfoot!
To me it seems pretty obvious that it is a dog of some sort.
It is clearly a dead Horse that we just cannot bring ourselves to stop beating. One way to make this thread a little more fun, someone shoot that thing with a Rage broadhead and see if you get good penetration or not :action-smiley-099:
I second Labra-panther. Let this die. It's a damned dog that someone needs to keep on their property. Looks like it could use a couple of cups of dog food a day too.
It's not a shooter that's for sure :alien:
panther or very skinny black lab.
It seems to me that the camera is pointed at too much of a downward angle. To tell the truth it looks faked. If not, you got a pic of a Canine.
Honestly it doesn't look like either one of the two big black cats I have seen.
Put a bowl of dog food, and a bowl of cat food next to it! hahah, than, we'll see :P
yea why would your camera be pointed so low.... strange in my opinion
It's a dog with a big knot on its back where the owner hit it causing it to run away onto your property in front of your cam lol. BB
Now I feel like I can give a more accurate opinion. I think it's a very skinny dog. The paws to me are far too small to be a large cat, and the legs are thinner than most large cats and skinnier.
Maybe you could pour out a can of dog food in a spot that will make a good picture of the animal.
Just an idea. |
I am throughly convinced that it is in no way a cat. cats typically are not that skinny, even a skinny cat has a pouch of fat tough skin by their hindquarters. also their hind legs are lower to the ground and they almost always appear as if theyre crouching.
