Me and my father set up a deer feeder and behind it. Too see what will come by we put a motion sensing camera.
Now my question is. at night time it flashes to take the picture.... will this spook them and have them never come back? In the day time they shouldn't notice it but at night time they will because of the flash. and it takes a new picture every 30 seconds I believe. Will they never come back or could you just tell me your inputs.
We have a mixture of pellets and corn in the feeder. with some deer attractant on the ground.

I had my trail cam looking at a mineral stump this summer and have almost a hours worth of pic's of a group of bucks including 2 nice 8 points and a big 10 along with 3 other smaller bucks hanging around the whole time. The flash didn't seem to bother them one bit. I don't know if that will change as the leaves come down or not, but I know all those bucks are still here

I guess it depends on the deer. There are people that say it does then there are people that say it doesn't scare deer. When i used flash on my camera i would only get one picture of the deer then they were gone, but when i switched to IR the deer would stay in the area and i would get multiple pics. If it does scare them they won't stay away forever so just try it out and see. Good luck!

My grandson nd I picked up two chips from cameras over scattered corn today that had been out three weeks. One had 1576 pictures and the other one had 1138 (dead battery) pictures, most of them were of deer. We have been using them for years and I havn't seen any of them that were scared of the flash.

I found that on the really big Bucks you will get one picture with the flash and then they are gone. Smaller deer and does don't seem to mind it as much. I won't be buying anymore with a flash.

In my epxerience it doesn't spook them but each dear is different. I have plent of pics in three shot burst's where the deer is in all three pictures. I also have many pics of the same deer on many differnt nights. I think with lightning, car lights hitting there eyes, spot lights, and other things that deer see keep them from getting too spooked.

I have got multiple pictures of a huge buck from 2 years ago. One night he came in and stayed around for 30 mins and gave me about 25 pictures of him. I did have one nice 8 point get spooked of it once. The first picture he was standing pretty close and the next i got his rump on the way out of town. In 5 minutes he was back and came back everynight for a week. The best one I ever got was of a small fork horn with his nose about an inch away from the camera on the first flash. The next picture he was standing 10 feet away gazing at the starts with a really confussed look on his face. He was back to feeding on the next set of pictures tho?? I don't think they mind it too much.
