Default Howdy Y'all!

Hello everyone.

My name's Elliot and I'm a big fan of the outdoors. I've been hiking for awhile and I quite enjoy roughing it in the sticks. I've always wanted to start hunting ever since a buddy of mine started telling me stories of him and his grandfather out in the forest hunting deer or elk, I can't remember.

I've read a few topics here and you guys seem pretty well informed on everything so I believe I picked the right hunting forum. I hope this okay for me to ask some beginner stuff on this forum since I didn't see a "newbie" area or anything.

Anyways. Newbie is pretty much what I am, as far as hunting goes. Basically all I know is there are seasons for certain kinds of hunting and of course you need a license too. Where can I find what time of the year I'm allowed to hunt and what I'm allowed to hunt and such... oh and how to go about obtained a license or permit.

Those are about my only real questions. I got a lot of the gear already since I've done a bunch of hiking in the mountains. I just need the preferred clothes and I'm pretty much set.

... I live in Washington State by the way. If that matters for my questions.

Thanks y'all. I hope to contribute a lot of my future hunting adventures here on the forum.

Most likely you will have to pass a hunters education course before you can get a license. The plus to that is that they are very educational about hunting. Most of the folks on here are very helpful. Welcome to the forum.
