See if you can find a Deer and Deer Hunting magazine for October.
It has Rut predictions for 2010

Good Luck

Everything I have read says. going by moon phase it will be late. November 20ish?

Call me old fashion but I think the rut has more to do with day light hours and doesnt vary much from year to year. Unless it's very warm, that could not make rut not as good.
I will be in a tree from Nov 5-12. That is my best week to see mature deer on their feet all day.

Good Luck!

I usually find 2 weeks after the full moon in Oct, to be a good start in the chase phase. I do not hunt the peak rut cause most bucks are doe'd up(not that I don't hunt it just no my best) and also really the rut is just getting started.

I used to hunt in west central Illinois and ten days either side of Nov. 10 will have bucks acting on their sexual urges. N. Illinois should be the same.

Nov 7th-15th seemed to always be when movement peaked, none the less right before then is when I prefer to hunt...end of OCT/early Nov

I figure I will be just fine as long as I am in a tree starting somewhere around October 1st and climbing down for the last time near December 15th or so!

Cant seem to stay out of the woods when that season officially opens!
