mine are now starting to move off the browse, and into acorns and other assorted nuts. Corn is always a good bet. I go oak and pine stand, then to 30x100 yard of winter rye, that goes to corn. I sit in the pines for year round cover.

I went for a walk about yesterday to try and find some sign that the deer were in my area and what they were eating. I had cleared a good path through a bunch of Acorn trees a few weeks back so I checked it out. Bingo! It looked like a deer dump station, piles were everywhere on this path and you could see the evidence of their presence on the path. They never have made it to the corn we put out 3 weeks ago because they have acorns every where in the woods. One thing I have put out that does not last long is apples from my neighbors tree which she lets rot on the ground. I've been picking them up and humping them into my spots, they don't rot there they get eaten in no time.
