Cool. Congrats to you both.
My wife went with me for three years. She has her gunning license.
She has seen me kill multiple deer.
Last year she went with me on my Ohio trip.
She had a good does with two smaller one come right to her.
She let them past, she is big buck hunting.
Two teenagers were out in a field 175 yards away from her and saw the does.
They unloaded everything in their guns, ran across the field after the deer while reloading their guns.
The one big does came crawling on her belly past my wife.
Both back legs blown from under her and a slug to the end of her nose ( blood everywhere ).
The teens see the deer and unload again never seeing my wife.
Slugs were hitting the trees right next to her.
Needless to say, with that kind of scare and seeing what they did to that doe, she told me she thinks that she is threw with deer hunting.
I asked her if she wants to go now that it is getting close to season, and she said , I don't think I'm going to go.
She says all see can see is what they did to that poor doe.

That's cool alright! My wifw has turkey hunt for quite a few years. She gave up rifle hunting because she didn't like to be cold and didn't really enjoy it much. But I have been trying to talk her into bow hunting. She finally agreed to give a try this year as well. Bought her a Mathews Passion and I swear she deadly with it. I can't wait. I'm going to tape her and try to get her first kill on camara.

well i can see her point of view. i'm sure for one it scared the hell out of her. obviously those teens weren't taught one thing from anyone. it's a shame to the sport when stupid idiots act so carelessly. did you approach them at all or say anything? i would've been madder than a hive of pissed off hornets and at least drag or follow those idiots home and let their parents know how stupid and careless they were and how close they came to taking your wifes life. i wonder how they couldn't see the hunter orange? it's winter during gun and its so easy to see everything. i guess they were blinded by stupidity!!

They actually were in our small drive we were doing. Their father screamed at them about shooting in her direction and also about leaving their spot. Standers never leave their spots, others know where you are. If you move it's bad news. We go out there for trophy hunting and they just shot everything. I wish they would wake up and realize what they have.

May your time together strengthen your frienship and marriage,I'm glad to here the excitement in your voice about this great opportunity. My wife has been watching the Outdoor Channel with me and has asked me if I thought she would be a good hunter and able to do it. She shot expert in the Military so I said I thought she could do it if she can get past feeling sorry for one when they get shot on the shows. I would feel comfortable with her in a ground blind and my Muzzle Loader or a cross bow,but not up high in a tree stand. Anyway good luck on your hunts.
