IL-Cornfed, thank you very much. The taxidermist I used is one of the only two I would use no matter where I lived, there work is world known, but they both charge alot more then most, and waiting time can be long. Both are located here in NJ, one is over 1 hour from me near where I grew up, the one I used for this deer is 40 mins from me now. I compared this mount to the others I have on the wall that the other guy did, both are equal in quality

I find it refreshing to see someone who truly wants to preserve the memory and do the animal justice with a tribute that will last a lifetime!
Far to often a guy goes cheap and only drops $200 to $300 or so on a mount and what they get back is some fluffy eared, open tearduct, shaggy lookin' example that looks NOTHING like the deer they killed. A quailty taxidermy job should look like the Buck could blink and then step out of the wall. Your mount looks awesome, THANKS for sharing!!!

I would have definitely guessed more than 131... Are you sure they added the inside spread? Or maybe forgot the mass measurements?
For contrast, this one was "officially" scored at 126 and change, and yours has g-4's and looks like it has longer tines and more mass...

Truly great looking mount,it almost looks alive, great color and texture. I likewise find it hard to believe that he was only 131. If I ever get one that nice I would get him mounted as well. We have a very good Taxidermist here in our town, his name is Dunn and he does great work.
