I'm thinking he's around a 100 inch 1 1/2 year old. Can't wait to see him at 2 1/2!

I don't think it matters what he scores, he would have an arrow or bullet through him the first time I saw him when I was in a tree and I think most on here would agree with that!

Biggest thing for me when I picked up bowhunting was: telling myself I can make this shot, and make it count. Steps 1-3 didnt hurt either. TO be honest if that deer walked within range of anyone on this forum myself included it would be a tough shot, 'cause that is a ragin' case of buck fever right there.

Doing a rough guesstimate, I would say he is right around 180. I score a lot of deer every yr. Even taking into account that he is in velvet and still has a bit of growing to do, he is a keeper for sure. For many folks that is a once in a lifetime deer.

As to how close to put a stand, I would put it within what you are comfortable with for a bow shot, say 30 - 40 yards. If you are going to be gun hunting this buck, you could go further. The farther away you are the less likely you will get busted when he comes into the lick. It looks like it is pretty thick cover though, so 30 - 40 yrds should be good for either bow or gun.

Why worry about a score when he's still growing and most importantly why score it unless it's down? Get back to us after you drop it.

Well like I said I'm a rookie and I have no clue if I should shoot him or let him grow. If I get a chance that is.
