Illinois buck pics
 

Just wanted to post some nice bucks taken from Carroll County, IL over the last 2 years. This is a real sleeper county for deer hunting but has some terrific genetics and nutrition.



I scored a nice 9pt after a small 2 man push



big 10 taken after a farmer 1/2 mile away started cutting the corn




my big 12 caught chasing a doe from the corn at 10am. scored 156 1.2



going to the check station in pearl city.

This is all a farse, there are no big deer in IL and anyone who wants to come here and hunt them shouldnt waste their time. I thought I saw one once but I was wrong.[&:]

The few times I' ve been to Illinois I' ve seen some really big deer. Naturally it was in the off season.Hopefully one year I' ll be able to hunt with my buddy who lives there. I saw one and said that was a Big Buck. He laughed and said just wait.Then we saw one that made the first one look like a FL. Key Deer.

Nope Redhawk, I think you' re mistaken. Droptine was right, there are no big deer in Illinois. All the big deer relocated to the northeast when hunting presure got high. If you want big deer you' re gonna have to go to the New England states.

Maybe I was wrong . It was in some state that had In.to the east, Mo. to the west and KY to the south.All the deer in Georgia seemed to have disappeared too! Ruger Redhawk

That area is a hotbed for good bucks. Lived in Ogle County ' til ' 77. Next door to Carroll. All the counties in that area are well stocked. In fact, the state was having special hunts in the state parks. Deer were overbrowsing all the underbrush. If you drive through the northern park in the evening, watch both sides of the road; a 200+ deer can make a mess of your vehicle.

thanks for the pics buddy , that 12 pointer was a beautiful specimen , unfortunately the largest bucks i' ve seen around my neck of the woods are 8 pointers , but that' s better than a 6 :D:D
