Why do you scout in the offseason? I did an article on my top 10 reasons and was wondering about others' reasons. Here is my take. http://www.pursuithunting.com/2010/0...ff-season.html

According to my wife, I'm only temporarily NOT scouting. Scouting off-season gives me a better understanding and intimate knowledge of the area I'm hunting. I get an insight into what the deer are doing, feeding on, traveling to, during all times of the year. I feel the more I know, the better the chances of using bits of information to be successful. And I get some exercise.

Simple familiarity with the land and a reason to be outside. Different food availability at different times of the year, and you are learning more of the deers habits. Sometimes deer change their habits from normal due to unkown factors, and you have more knowledge to help you figure out other game plans.
