Saw the arrow hit, heard it hit a stump behind him, he took off out of sight over the hill. I saw a deer get up about 100yds away when I went to get my arrow. Didn't think it was him,
too small. a 4x3, nope. No blood on him. It took me two hours of humping up & down a hill in the dark before I went over that way, to discover I'd really shot a 4x3, not the big guy. Mounted his horns anyway. That was probably the best hunting shot I've ever made.Oh well. damn, that was a goooood shot though.

I would have said 125 right off the bat without reading the entire thread. It takes a lot of bone for a clean 8 pt. to crack the 130 mark. Either way that is a nice deer!
