Default Slug hunters - question.

OK this is for all my fellow slug hunters.

How many "new" offerings of deer slugs are we gonna see in 2010? And from who?

The manufacturers IMO basically just keep making very minor changes to an old reciepe, calling it something new and promising all sorts of things.

Personally I shoot Brenneke exclusively when hunting. I have tried a few new promises but never saw anything I thought would kill my deer any deader or offer something I didn't already expect.

The one I am planning on trying this summer is the Winchester Supeme Elite XP3. It's ballistic indicate it is very flat shooting way out there and promises an unbelieveable amount of energy even way out there.

I guess I should ask if anyone has had any experience with these?

I have not tried those. I've been using the Federal Power Shok slugs for some years now. they shoot great out of my gun. I won't change unless they stop making them!

Those were the slugs of choice this year! My H@R ultra seemed to like them the most. I managed to shoot 3 does with them 40 to 80 yards. One through both shoulders and one quartering hard towards me. Put it right through the point of her shoulder. maximum distances they ran was 40yds. And complete pass throughs and def took everything out in there way! I'm not parcel to them and would like to try them at longer ranges but they do do there job IMO

They are great if your gun loves em .. They pack a hell of a punch when they hit but i have a marlin 512 slugmaster and it loves remington buckhammers and the 4 deer and about 10 hogs i've shot with them didn't go more than 10 yards if not fell right where they were standing

I just bought my frst slugger. A 870 fully rifled cantilever. I bought it after i saw my friend take a doe at 167 paces, holding dead on using the SST's 2 3/4 inch sabots slugs. Man that deer, DRT! I am reading and seeing some fabtastic esabot slug stories about range and power. I am thinking of putting the Knoxx Tctical stock on it w/ adjustable cheek pad for optics shooting since it is scoped and i like T-Hole stocks. Claims reduction of 95% recoil? Any thoughts or advice?
