Default This Buck is Safe Until Next Year

Looks like one of the bigger racked bucks on our property. He survived bow, rifle and late flintlock. Hope he's even bigger next year.

I'm always looking for sheds. We're in the big woods and the deer wander around for miles. Shed hunting is a lot of getting lucky. But we sometimes get lucky. Found some good ones over the years. One year I found the shed from a buck with a 12 inch drop tine. Unfortunately, he busted it off earlier that year.

Setting out some shed traps would be helpful to you.

What do I do? Make a little cage over a pile of corn? Something that gets their horns entangled?

YOu do know that your joy in that deer making it through the hunting season just increased the likelyhood that that deer will end up as a hood ornament on someones chevy cobalt.

Not cool

There's only one public road in the area and that's 1.5 miles away. He'll probably be alright over the winter. But the rut could put him across that road may times.
