Which one might be better to hunt on in the rut. A foodsource or a well used deer trail running along a fence line.

I am using a 25-06 rifle.

I'd say the trail. bucks should be roaming around and concentrating on the ladies not the food!

Gotta go with the food source. The doe's will go to the food and the bucks will go to the doe's. You've gotta hunt the doe's to find the bucks. If the bucks are really pushing the does, then look for the food source near a bedding area. The doe's will head to the thickets to get the bucks off thier tails, but the bucks will find them.

Bucks and does r running together now.I killed a 3 point yesterday,he had a doe with him.Hunt over the food source,u go where the does r,there will be bucks there sooner or later!
