i bought a mossberg atr as a back up to my (good) rifle, because it was so cheap, but was very smooth. well was i surprised ,it out shot every rifle that i have (9) it is now my number 1 rifle, just don't expect it to be admired in deer camp

My advice is get some cheap ammo and target shoot with the gun to began with. After you've trained yourself not to flinch at the blast and you can hit what your aiming at consistently, only then are you ready to hunt live animals. I'm sort of new to firearms and hunting also. It took me a few years and allot of boxes of ammo before I became proficient enough to try out my 270 on live game.
