Default First deer

I got my first deer yesterday. I got to my stand at 6:45. It started to rain didnt see anything all morning. So i decided to walk back to a woods on the property didnt see anything there it was 9:45 so I decided to leave. So I walked to one more place to where the bed and sure enough I kicked up a doe she ran 50 yards then stopped in front of a creek looked at me and I shot. She then jumped the creek and fell.

First deer ever?... or for the year?

I'm glad you got a picture at least if that's your first deer. It helps keep the memories when you get older. I still remember my first. I saw her and shot her. LOL!

Hey, nice job and congratulations on putting on a good shot. It's easy to blow it when your adrenaline is pumping, but you pulled it off!

Congrats!! That is always a great feeling.

If I could give you and any other new hunters some advice, it would be to start a photo album for all of your game. Every year I get a deer or turkey, I put a picture of it in my album with a description of the hunt. I have over 20 years of pictures and stories that describes the hunt for every deer and turkey I have shot. It sure is nice going back and reading about my first successful deer hunt with my dad or my first successful archery hunt and what took place. It will make for a nice book if I ever have kids and if I am fortunate enough to have them join me on hunts, I wil start a book for them also.

Good luck on your future hunts and have a safe season.
