Default spruce buck

I hunt some thick big woods in northern ontario. This fella came thru some thick spruce following a doe. Raking the trees and tending grunt. All I could see was a main beam, eyeball and rutted neck. When his shoulder hit the hole in the trees he got it.

yes it is a .30-.30.

I love going old school in this area. I feel a little "cowboy" with the lever action and open sights. lol. Most shots are not much more than bow range so no need for a scope.

Great buck and love that lever action 30-30. That's the perfect rifle for heavy woods. Looks like he's got some size to him as well... over 250lbs anyway.
