New World Record Typical
The word on the street is that the typical record has been broken. A bow hunter outside of Sheboygan, Wisconsin shot a 217 inch typical.
Google search will turn up plenty.
Here's one article

Although I can't see him netting 217. Looks like too many non-typical points. A lot of mass, though.

There have been numerous postings on nearly every forum about this whitetail and most "experts" agree that the 217" number is seriously inflated. In fact, several official scores have evaluated the photos and just don't come up with a score that would threaten ANY top record buck. Also, note that in no articles on the buck has it mentioned anyone actually scoring the rack???
I guess only time will tell and you can be sure many are waiting this bucks official scoring session after the mandatory 60 day drying period.

A few thoughts; it cannot be officially scored until a 60 day drying period has passed and if it is even approaching a new record, it will be panel scored before an official declaration that it is new record takes place. The palmation in the rack (read possible common base points) may be it's undoing. It will be some time before we know for sure what becomes of this Buck's score, but regardless, it is impressive to say the least!
