RE: How do I find a hunting lease?
Several ways to try and locate land. Advertising in the local paper, contacting all the timber companies in the area and getting on the list, put up a few signs in the local farmers seed and feed stores, contacting consultant foresters in your area, contact banks that handle trust for people and just plain old getting out and knocking on doors. Don' t wait till the week before season to try and make contacts, it may be a matter of several years before you are successful in getting a good tract. Meanwhile try and get in a established club and cross your fingers.

Im sorry for this neg responce, But, I dont think you have a chance. You cant even sign in to this board to ask questions. People want to know who and what they are leaseing to.
Bottom line is if you cant face us on this board you have no busness trying to talk with someone about a lease.

RE: How do I find a hunting lease?
I don' t see the problem with having the HNI Visitor ability to post on the forum. A number of people do not have computers at home and use the school, library or work computers to read the forum and occasionally post a question. I had rather have a good discussion question posted by HNI Visitor than some of the other threads I have seen.

RE: How do I find a hunting lease?
Most hunting leases that I have ever been around require a current member to recommend any prospective new member. Once the prospective member is recommended a vote takes place to determine whether or not this person gets in.
This can make it tough to get in to a lease if you do not know anyone that is a member.

RE: How do I find a hunting lease?
Not sure about the negativety but here are some ideas.
1. Ask around the local sporting good stores or look in local classifieds.
2. get about 8-10 guys together and draft a set of rules.
3. Acquire an insurance coveragle plan from buckmasters(landowners like this)
4. find a willing landowner and present your lease w/some $$$
the keys are to find a place to hunt (#1) and then a decent group of guys to split the costs and share in the hunt/work. In NJ, money talks and it is getting rarer to find landowners willing to allow hunting due to liabilitie/etc.
