Default My hunt is over

Well I've had the last 10 days off and now my vacation is over. I go back to work tomorrow, and I'm pretty disappointed. I wasn't able to connect here in Iowa. I still have about a month left of season but I'm now restricted to hunting weekends only. I dont know what the deal was this year. I though I had timed it right, but it was so warm the bucks just werent moving till well after dark. Every day I would find fresh sign but saw very little activity from nice bucks during the day. Plenty of small bucks and a few does was all. Oh well, I hunted hard and it was way better than being at work. Hope everyone else does better than me. PS. It was really cool, my wife was able to kill 2 does this week, which was worth all the time and work we put in to see her excitement when she connected.

Bitter sweet. Bitter you didn't connect, but sweet you got some time off to be in the woods. Sometimes success shouldn't be measured by a kill, but the times you had to be out there to enjoy the woods and to clear your thoughts.

Good luck hunting the weekends. Take care,

Dang snipe,
leave something for someone else to say
I agree totally!

Same thing for me this last week Jepcho, I didn't get crap!
The good thing was I got to hunt with my dad who is 64 and in
great shape, that ol'man hiked my butt off! Ahh sweet memories,
I'll regret the day he isn't there but I'll always remember the day
he walked me to the back 200 acres and took one of the biggest
bucks he's ever shot!
( and I had the pleasure to drag it out for him!)

#1Predator,

Take a video camera out there when you hunt with your dad. You'll be glad you did. I have no photos or footage of my dad hunting; none whatsoever. My bad.

Adios,
