Greenish mucus on deer meat? Puss pics added!
Ive butchered alot of deer but Ive never seen one of these greenish mucus sacks, like I found on the buck I killed yesterday. Ive heard people mention it before though. What is it? Im wondering if this make the meat unsafe to eat, although I did throw out the meat around it. Thanks in advance:happy0001:

I've seen greenish mucus on deer that had been shot by an arrow earlier that year or the year before. Did it look like that could have been the case?

Its from an area that had an infection. The rest of the deer is fine, avoid the areas that were in close proximity to the infected area.

I've never seen a mucusy puss - but I have run across blueish green crystal things - which I thought were glands or something - but could have been a dried infection.
