I am a little intrigued by the idea of getting a deer cam as I thought it would interesting to set it up along a trail to see what is crossing. I haven't really looked into them but understand they are a little expensive.
What is everyones opinion on them and what kind do you recommend? What are some of the things you have seen?

I have a Deer-Cam DC100. I really like it. They are around $279.95 and the cost of film and developing does add up. I wouldn't give mine up for nothing though. If you have the time and money, I would reccommend one for sure.

If you have the time but not quite the money to spend on a commercial unit, I recommend building one yourself.
You can build one from scratch for about $100, or you can buy partially assembled components and finish it for less than $150.

I am looking into getting one. I would like some tips, I live in Pa so I need one with an AMAZING locking device. I want a very high quality camera too. I want to see some of the bucks that are in the area I hunt. I have seen some 130-140 inchers this year, and a 170-180 incher too. I will probablly get one in the summer so I can put it out and see what kinda pics I can get. Any tips?
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

Made my own with help off the net.
I think its great to get photos of whats in your area. I mean, I KNOW there are some good bucks that don't get killed. I cannot wait for fall 2002 for me set up a couple over community scrapes !
BTW, mine is curently NOT working, am going to fix it this weekend, so doing it yourself is MUCH cheaper ($125 per camera) but also is a little work too.
